The academy

Opened in Jos so a child is not left behind.

Tanjuriel Elite Stars Model Academy belongs to Tanjuriel El-Buba Cooperation. It was inaugurated in September 2022 on Rayfield–Old Airport Road, opposite MOPOL 8 Command, Jos.

Purpose

One standard of school, more than one kind of home.

The academy is led by Proprietor and Executive Director Mrs Nissi Xavier. It was opened so children from different kinds of homes could have the same chance at a serious education: academic work, spiritual discipline, and creative skill in the same week.

  • Academic work

    Crèche, day care, Kindergarten 1 and 2, and Grades 1 to 5. A full school day, Monday to Friday.

  • Character

    Conduct is taught, not assumed. Ability is not separated from how a child treats other people.

  • Creative skill

    Music and creative arts from the early years, taught as skill and not as decoration.

This vision is to give this generation access to the best of education in terms of spiritual discipline, academic and career development, and enable them attain their full potentials in life.

Scholarships

The same classrooms.

TESMA was opened so children from low-income homes and children from better-off homes could be taught together. Scholarship programmes were part of that promise from the first day.

At inauguration, the board said 30 percent of pupils would be on scholarship, with support aimed at families of low income. Places are limited. Admissions will say what is open for the coming term, and what a family needs to show.
