Home / Crèche

Early years

Crèche, and the day care beside it.

The youngest children at TESMA are not parked beside the school. Crèche and day care sit on the same campus as kindergarten and Grades 1 to 5, on Rayfield–Old Airport Road, opposite MOPOL 8 Command, in Jos.

01

Crèche

A supervised start for the youngest children. The work of this room is care that a parent can trust: who receives the child, who feeds them, who notices if the day is off.

Admissions confirms the age band for the current term. Bring the questions that matter at this age — feeding, sleep, collection, and who to call if a child is unwell.

02

Day care

Care through the school day for families who need it, held to the same standard as the rest of the academy. It is one of the programmes announced when TESMA opened in September 2022.

Day care is not a separate school and not a different set of rules. The school day is still Monday to Friday, 7:10am to 3:30pm.

What parents should expect

A calm handover, then a known adult.

  1. Arrival

You hand the child to a member of staff, and you say how the morning has gone. Collection is only by an adult the family has named.

  2. The day itself

Feeding, rest, and play follow the child. Songs, simple books, and floor play are how the youngest children learn. Nobody is rushed toward a worksheet.

  3. Going home

The person who receives you should be able to tell you something true about the day: sleep, food, and mood. If something needs a parent’s decision, the academy calls.

Why it is inside the academy

The early rooms lead somewhere.

A child who starts in crèche can move into Kindergarten 1 and 2, then into Grade 1, without changing school. Music and creative arts are part of TESMA from the early years, taught as skill when a child is ready for them.
